Volleyball Finished 1-1 at the Mt. St. Joseph invitational

The Muskingum volleyball team traveled to Cincinnati to play a double header on Saturday afternoon. In game one, the Muskies battled in five sets, but would ultimately fall to Mt. St. Joseph 3-2 (27-25, 25-22, 30-28, 25-15, 15-13).

Inside the Numbers

  • Junior Josie Niemeyer led the Muskies attack with 17 kills (.406 kill Percentage). Niemeyer also added three blocks, two service aces, and two digs.
  • Sophomore Mackenzie Krous helped fuel the offense with 15 kills. Krous also energized the Defense with 20 digs.
  • Sophomore Alexis Bradley and sophomore Ella Jefferis took charge of the offense. Bradley led the Muskies with 33 assists, while Jefferis added 23 assists.
  • Sophomore Katharine Clayton made her defensive presence felt as she totaled 21 digs. Clayton also posted five assists.
  • Sophomore Maddie Ferrell finished the game with 13 kills and seven digs.
  • Junior Emma Johnson paced the offence with 10 kills (.381 Kill Percentage).
  • Sophomore Cierra Lathrop totaled 14 digs and two assists.
  • Muskingum ended the match with 66 kills, 63 assists, and 88 digs.
  • Aubrey Miranda led Mt. St. Joseph with 19 kills.
  • Jasmine Butler totaled 55 assists to lead the Mountain Lions.

Game two, the Muskies bounced back against Earlham, as Muskingum would win 3-1 (26-24, 25-19, 25-19, 26-24)

  • Krous led the Muskies offense with 15 kills. Krous added 14 digs and two blocks.
  • Niemeyer paced the offense with 12 kills (.313 kill percentage).
  • Bradley piloted the offense with 37 assists. She finished with 10 digs and two kills.
  • Johnson ended up with nine kills.
  • Lathrop logged 14 digs and an assist.
  • Muskingum totaled 53 kills, 49 assists, and 73 digs as a team.
  • Caylee Brandes led Earlham with 16 kills.
  • Ava Walters had 40 assists for Earlham
