Cruzen steps down as Muskingum Head Volleyball Coach for position at the Naval Academy

After eight seasons, Muskingum volleyball head coach Hallie Cruzen stepped down, leaving the Muskies to become associate head coach at the Naval Academy.

During Cruzen's tenure at Muskingum, she was a two-time Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Coach of the Year, led the Muskies to two OAC Regular Season Championships, and led the team to the NCAA Regional Tournament semifinals.

"This is a very exciting time for Hallie and her professional career," said Muskingum Director of Athletics Kari Winters. "For her to have the opportunity to join back up with her college coach is special. Watching Hallie begin her head coaching career at Muskingum and develop the program into a perennial contender within the conference has been a lot of fun. Hallie recruited several strong, successful women to Muskingum, and she has touched many lives over her tenure on campus. We will miss watching her lead our Muskies on and off of the court but wish her well at Navy!"

Under Cruzen's leadership, Muskingum advanced to the OAC Tournament in seven of eight years, playing twice for the OAC Tournament Championship. Numerous student-athletes were honored under Cruzen's tutelage, including being recognized as AVCA All-America Honorable Mention accolades, OAC Player of the Year, OAC Newcomer of the Year, and All-OAC and Academic All-OAC honors.

Cruzen ends her Muskingum coaching career with a .681 (147-69) overall winning percentage and a .679 (55-26) winning percentage in the OAC.

Muskingum will begin a national search for its next volleyball head coach immediately.
