Volleyball clinches sixth-seed in OAC Tournament

The Muskingum volleyball team clinched the sixth seed in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday. The Muskies will travel to third seed Ohio Northern on Tuesday for the first-round matchup.

OAC Tournament

  • With a regular season OAC record of 5-4, the Muskingum volleyball team clinched the sixth-seed in the OAC Tournament.
  • Otterbein (8-1) and John Carroll (6-3) earned the first and second overall seed respectively. Both teams will receive a first-round bye.
  • Along with Muskingum and Ohio Northern, Marietta and Mount Union will also compete in the first round of the tournament. The fourth seed Pioneers will host the fifth seed Purple Raiders on Tuesday.
  • The winner of the Muskingum-Ohio Northern match will move on to face John Carroll, while the winner of the Marietta-Mount Union match will take on Otterbein.

Versus John Carroll

  • The Muskies were led by senior Emma Dunham with nine kills.
  • Senior Emma Conrad dished out game-high 27 assists, while she also added 11 digs and four kills.
  • Juniors Raegan Flood and Khloe Taylor both notched seven kills, while junior Lexie Huck added 11 digs and four kills.
  • Freshman Quinn Horn added four kills for Muskingum, while senior Gracie Collins notched a game0high 19 digs.

Versus Kenyon

  • Muskingum put together a dominated effort against the Owls to wrap up the regular season. The Muskies won the first set 25-14, but dropped the second set 25-23. However, the Muskies battled back to claim the third set 25-12, and closed out the match with a 25-18 win in set four.
  • Muskingum was led by senior Emma Dunham with 13 kills.
  • Junior Khloe Taylor notched 11 kills for the Muskies, while freshman Emma Johnson added nine kills and six digs.
  • Senior Emma Conrad dished out a game-high 40 assists and she also added 11 digs, while senior Gracie Collins tallied a game-high 25 digs.
  • Freshman Alana Alexander finished with 13 digs, while sophomore Grace Pedersen added 10 digs.
  • Freshman Quinn Horn had eight kills for Muskingum, and junior Raegan Flood had five kills and five digs.
  • Kenyon was led by Rebecca Gwynne with 10 kills and three digs.
  • As a team, Muskingum totaled 52 kills, 48 assists, 79 digs, nine service aces, and eight blocks.
