The Muskingum volleyball team rolled past OAC-foe Capital 3-0 on Wednesday night to improve to 13-5 on the season.
The Basics
- Records: Muskingum (13-5 Overall, 2-2 OAC), Capital (8-13 Overall, 0-4 OAC)
- Location: The Capital Center – Bexley, Ohio

How it Happened
- After Capital jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead, the Muskies managed to chip away and even the score at 11-11.
- However, Capital quickly went back on top, regaining the lead at 16-13.
- Muskingum wouldn't go away, evening the score at 16 apiece, and eventually taking a lead of their own at 20-19.
- Down the stretch of the first frame, Muskingum found themselves holding a slim 23-20 lead. Capital used a quick 4-1 spurt to even the score at 24-24, but it wasn't enough as Muskingum came up with two clutch points to claim the opening set 26-24.
- In set two, Muskingum held a 5-2 lead early on. However, it was short lived as Capital quickly tied the score at 6-6.
- Despite the Comets' momentum, Muskingum used a 9-4 run to jump out to a 15-10 lead.
- Not looking back, the Muskies closed out the frame by outscoring Capital 10-7 and winning the set 25-17.
- In the third set, Muskingum held a slim 6-5 lead early on. However, the Muskies found their stride and used a dominant 19-6 run to win the set 25-11 and claim the straight-set victory.
Inside the Numbers
- The Muskies were led by senior Emma Dunham and junior Lexie Huck who both tallied 10 kills. Huck also chipped in seven digs for Muskingum.
- Junior Khloe Taylor turned in nine kills and four digs for Muskingum, while senior Emma Conrad continued her stellar play with 30 assists and 12 digs.
- Senior Gracie Collins registered a team-high 16 digs, while freshman Abby Buchtel added 11 digs.
- Freshman Emma Johnson had a solid outing with four kills, while junior Raegan Flood added three kills.
- The Comets were led by Sydney Lapointe with nine kills.
- As a team, the Muskies totaled 41 kills, 37 assists, 63 digs, and seven service aces.

- The Muskies will be back in action on Saturday, October 15, when they host Baldwin Wallace. The contest marks Muskingum's Faculty/Staff Appreciation Game and is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
