Volleyball receives votes in third straight AVCA Division III Top 25 Poll

The Muskingum volleyball team received votes for the third straight week in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll released on Tuesday. The AVCA Division III Top 25 Poll is selected by Division III head coaches representing the eight NCAA regions. Muskingum received three points in this week's poll.

The Muskies are off to a 12-3 start this season after most recently defeating Heidelberg 3-1 last Saturday. The contest against the Student Princes marked Muskingum's home-opener and OAC-opener.

As a team, Muskingum has totaled 616 kills, 542 assists, 836 digs, and 101 blocks this season. Of the team's 12 wins, Muskingum has won nine of them in straight sets. The Muskies currently average 12.08 kills per set, 10.63 assists per set, 16.39 digs per set, and 1.97 blocks per set.

The Muskies are led by senior Emma Conrad who has dished out a team-high 455 assists this year. Conrad has also contributed 68 kills, 141 digs, 26 blocks, and has a .338 hitting percentage. Junior Khloe Taylor has had a solid start to the season posting a team-high 145 kills, while junior Lexie Huck has totaled 119 kills. Senior Emma Dunham has 98 kills on the season, and she also carries a .328 hitting percentage as well. Freshman Quinn Horn is also making an impact for Muskingum in her first collegiate season with 91 kills and 152 digs.

Muskingum will be back in action on Wednesday, October 5, when they take on Marietta. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. inside the Anne C. Steele Center, and the contest is also being promoted as a Muskie Pride Game courtesy of Muskingum's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Fans can secure their tickets ahead of the game or on-site by purchasing them online at the Fighting Muskies' official ticketing page found at fightingmuskies.com/athletics/tickets or via the HomeTown Ticketing mobile app available through the App Store or Google Play. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for students, and children 5-and-under are free.
