Volleyball wins home-opener vs. Heidelberg

The Muskingum volleyball team defeated OAC-foe Heidelberg 3-1 on Saturday to move to 12-3 on the season.

How it Happened

  • Muskingum opened the match in dominating fashion, jumping out to a 10-4 lead in the first set.
  • The Muskies didn't look back, cruising to a 25-13 win in the opening frame.
  • After Heidelberg won set two 25-21, the Muskies got back on track with a 25-12 victory in set three. Muskingum closed out the third set on a 17-6 run after narrowly leading 8-6 early on.
  • In the fourth set, Heidelberg jumped out to a 10-7 lead early in the frame.
  • However, Muskingum used an 18-7 run to close out the match and win the frame 25-17.

Inside the Numbers

  • The Muskies were led by junior Lexie Huck with 12 kills.
  • Senior Emma Conrad dished out a game-high 37 assists, while she also added 20 digs.
  • Junior Raegan Flood notched 10 kills for Muskingum, while junior Khloe Taylor registered nine kills and six assists.
  • Senior Emma Dunham hammered seven kills for the Muskies, and senior Gracie Collins finished with a game-high 21 digs.
  • Freshman Quinn Horn recorded with eight digs and five kills, while freshman Alana Alexander chipped in seven digs.
  • As a team, Muskingum totaled 47 kills, 42 assists, 70 digs, and seven service aces.
