Volleyball receives votes in latest AVCA Division III Top 25 Poll

The Muskingum volleyball team received votes for the second straight week in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll released on Tuesday. The AVCA Division III Top 25 Poll is selected by Division III head coaches representing the eight NCAA regions. Muskingum recieved 47 points in this week's poll, up from 28 a week ago.

The Muskies are off to an 11-2 start this season after finishing 1-1 at the Juniata Tri-Match last weekend. Muskingum defeated Eastern in straight sets, and dropped a tough battle to fourth-ranked Juniata.

As a team, Muskingum has totaled 511 kills, 452 assists, 686 digs, and 85 blocks on the season thus far. Of the team's 11 wins this season, Muskingum has won nine of them in straight sets. The Muskies currently average 11.88 kills per set, 10.51 assists per set, 15.95 digs per set, and 1.97 blocks per set.

The Muskies are led by senior Emma Conrad who has dished out a team-high 377 assists this year. Conrad has also contributed 58 kills, 111 digs, 29 blocks, and has a .338 hitting percentage.

Junior Khloe Taylor has had a solid start to the season posting a team-high 116 kills, while junior Lexie Huck has totaled 95 kills. Senior Emma Dunham has 83 kills on the season, and she also carries a .321 hitting percentage as well. Freshman Quinn Horn has emerged as a solid player in her first collegiate season. Horn has totaled 82 kills and 131 digs for the Muskies.

The Muskies are back in action on Wednesday, September 28, when they open up Ohio Athletic Conference play at 18th-ranked Otterbein. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Westerville, Ohio.
