Muskies dominate John Carroll in Ohio Athletic Conference Opener

The Muskingum volleyball team was firing on all cylinders en route to a 3-0 sweep of OAC-foe John Carroll.

The Basics
• Records: Muskingum (7-6, 1-0), John Carroll (7-7, 0-1)

How it Happened
• Storming out of the gate, the Muskies put together a strong first set, winning the frame 25-16.
• After trading kills early in the second set, the Muskies were able to settle in and win frame two 25-20.
• Set three saw both teams put together runs, with John Caroll pulling within one point in its final stages. However, the Muskies made timely plays down the stretch to win set three 25-23.
• Leading the Muskies was senior Brooke Bigrigg with nine kills, while junior Emma Dunham added seven kills.
• Senior Erin Dickson led the Muskies with 11 assists, and junior Emma Conrad also dished out nine assists of her own.
• Sophomore Reagan Flood chipped in six kills, while fellow sophomores Khloe Taylor and Hannah Gove each added four kills apiece.
• The Blue Streaks were led by Cassi Calamunci with 10 kills.

Inside the Numbers
• The Muskies tallied 33 kills, 29 assists, 53 digs, 12 blocks, and seven service aces.
• The Blue Streaks totaled 29 kills, 31 assists, 65 digs, and three service aces.

• The Muskies will hit the court again Saturday, September 25 when they travel to Transylvania and participate in the Fall Pioneer Classic. The Muskies will face Transylvania at 12:00 p.m. and Hanover at 5:00 p.m.
