Muskies split final two games at Hope Invitational

The Muskingum volleyball team went 1-1 on the final day of the Hope Invitational. The Muskies fell to #6 Calvin 3-0 and defeated Dominican (Ill.) 3-1.

Game 1

The Basics
• Records: Muskingum (5-6), Calvin (11-1)
• Location: DeVos Fieldhouse – Holland, MI
• Attendance: 89

How it Happened
• Calvin got out to a hot start, taking the first set 25-8.
• Riding their set one momentum, the Knights captured set two 25-13.
• The Muskies showed fight in the third set but fell just short, losing the final frame 25-21.
• The Muskies were led by sophomore Raegan Flood with eight kills.
• Junior Emma Conrad and sophomore Hanna Gove also chipped in four kills.
• Senior Erin Dickson added 20 assists and four digs.
• Senior Brooke Bigrigg notched 11 digs.
• Calvin was led by Gabriella Kellogg with 12 kills.

Inside the Numbers
• Muskingum totaled 22 kills, 22 assists, 32 digs, and four service aces.
• Calvin tallied 48 kills, 44 assists, 56 digs, and eight service aces.

• Attendance: 73

How it Happened
• After dropping set one 25-17, the Muskies were able to rally in set two and win 25-20 to even the match.
• The Muskies put together a dominate third frame, winning the set 25-9.
• Muskingum sealed the win with a fourth set victory, 25-19.
• The Muskies were led by senior Brooke Bigrigg with 15 kills and 10 digs.
• Sophomore Reagan Flood recorded 11 kills, while junior Emma Dunham and sophomore Khloe Taylor each notched eight kills.
• Junior Emma Conrad dished out 20 assists and also recorded 17 digs.
• Senior Erin Dickson tallied 16 assists for the Muskies as well.
• Dominican (Ill.) was led by Gabija Sinickaite with nine kills.

Inside the Numbers
• Muskingum tallied 52 kills, 60 digs, 47 assists, and six service aces on the match.
• Dominican (Ill.) recorded 38 kills, 36 assists, 65 digs, and four services aces in total.
