The Muskingum volleyball team stumbled in day one of the Hope Tournament. The Muskies fell to Cornell, 3-0 and ninth-ranked Hope, 3-0 on Friday evening at DeVos Fieldhouse.
Game 1
The Basics
- Muskingum (5-4), Cornell (6-3)
- Location: DeVos Fieldhouse – Holland, MI
How it happened
- In the opening set, the Rams took an early 5-0 lead, and never looked back as they defeated the Muskies, 25-17.
- After trading points in set two, the Rams were able to pull away with a 25-23 win.
- After a hard-fought battle, the Muskies dropped the final set, 26-24.
- Leading Muskingum was senior Brooke Bigrigg with 11 kills.
- Sophomore Lexie Huck added five kills and sophomore Hannah Gove chipped in four kills.
- Senior Erin Dickson dished out 16 assists, and junior Emma Conrad tallied seven assists.
- The Rams were led by Rory White with 16 kills.
Inside the Numbers
- The Muskies tallied 28 kills, 28 assists, and 29 digs.
- Cornell notched 46 kills, 40 assists, and 41 digs.

- Location: DeVos Fieldhouse – Holland, MI
How it happened
- Hope won the opening set, 25-19.
- After trading points early in the set two, the Flying Dutch continued their solid play winning, 25-19.
- The Flying Dutch's concluded the final set defeating the Muskies, 25-18.
- Bigrigg led the Muskie attack with nine kills and registered 13 digs.
- Sophomores Raegan Flood and Huck both added five kills.
- Dickson dished out 16 assists for the Muskies.
- Hope was led by McKenna Otto who tallied 10 kills.
- The Muskies tallied 28 kills, 23 assists, and 59 digs.
- Hope tallied 41 kills, 38 assists, and 54 digs.

Muskingum will wrap-up Hope Tournament play tomorrow when they square off against sixth-ranked Calvin and Dominican (Ill). Game times are slated for 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
