Volleyball ranked 25th in latest AVCA Division III Top 25 Poll

The Muskingum volleyball team was ranked 25th in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll that was released on Tuesday. The AVCA Division III Top 25 Poll is selected by Division III head coaches representing the eight NCAA regions.

The Muskies are off to a 3-2 start this season with wins against Ohio Wesleyan, Wittenberg and Hanover.

As a team, Muskingum has tallied 246 kills, 217 assists, 337 digs, and 24 blocks. The Muskies averaging 11.71 kills per set, 10.33 assists per set, 16.05 digs per set, and 1.14 blocks per set, while also registering a .189 hiting percentage.

Senior Maddie McGee leads the squad with a team-high 63 kills, averaging 3.50 kills per set and also has recorded 39 digs.

Senior Brooke Bigrigg has logged in a team-high of 72 digs, averaging 3.73 digs per set, and is second on team in kills with 50.

Sophomore Raegan Flood is third on the team in kills with 34, averaging 1.62 kills per set. Sophomore Emma Conrad has notched 54 digs, averaging 2.57 digs per set, while senior Erin Dickson has logged 94 assists, averaging 4.48 assists per set.

The Muskies next compete at the Gio Memorial Tournament hosted by Johns Hopkins, on Friday, September 10, against Virginia Wesleyan. Game time is slated for 5:00 p.m.
