Muskies split final two games at ONU Invitational

The Muskingum University volleyball team finished 1-1 on the final day of the ONU Invitational in Ada, Ohio. The Muskies defeated Hanover 3-2, and fell to Denison 3-0.

Game 1

The Basics

• The first set saw both teams trade blows, but Muskingum prevailed, 25-22.
• Hanover tied the match up after winning set two, 25-16.
• The Muskies caught fire in set three, cruising to a 25-19 win.
• Hanover battled back in set four, winning 25-19 and pushing the match to a winner-takes-all fifth set.
• After trading points early in the final frame, Muskingum made a clutch run to seal the match, winning set five 15-9.
• Leading the Muskies was senior Maddie McGee with 21 kills and 11 digs.
• Senior Erin Dickson added 31 assists and nine kills as well.
• Adrianne Vance led Hanover with 16 kills.

• Muskingum tallied 58 kills, 54 assists, and 77 digs.
• Hanover notched 62 kills, 58 assists, and 79 digs.

How It Happened
• The Muskies struggled to find their rhythm early on, dropping set one 25-19.
• Set two saw both teams battle to gain momentum, and it was the Big Red who eventually went on a key run to win the frame, 25-21.
• Muskingum showed resilience late, but it wasn't enough to hold off Denison, who won set three 25-23.
• The Muskies were led by sophomore Khloe Taylor with 11 kills.
• Senior Erin Dickson added 17 assists, while junior Emma Conrad dished out 16 assists of her own.
• Denison was led by Daria Rodriguez with 14 kills.

• Muskingum finished with 37 kills, 36 assists, 51 digs, and seven blocks.
• Denison notched 43 kills, 41 assists, 49 digs, and seven blocks.
