#15 Volleyball splits Top-15 Showdown at #12 Otterbein

The #15 Muskingum volleyball team split their doubleheader against #12 Otterbein in a Top-15 Showdown on Friday evening. The Cardinals took Game 1, 3-0, then the Muskies stormed back to win Game 2, 3-1.

Game 1

  • Ottebein took the opening match 26-24, 25-22, 25-23.
  • Sophomore Emma Dunham led the Muskie offense with 12 kills on 16 attempts.
  • Senior Brooke Fatheree and Senior Maddie McGee each added nine spikes during the match. Fatheree also notched ten digs.
  • Senior Erin Dickson guided the Muskie attack with a team-best 26 assists.
  • Sophomore Gracie Collins grabbed a team-high 18 digs for Muskingum.
  • Julia Vermillion led Ottebein with 11 kills on 38 attempts.
  • Hillary Sterret notched 17 digs.
  • Carlie Craycraft aided the Cardinal offense with 34 assists.

The Difference - Game 1

  • Muskingum tallied 37 kills, 36 assists, 51 digs, and one block.
  • Otterbein finished with 48 kills, 47 assists, 50 digs, and one block.

Game 2

  • Muskingum secured the match 26-24, 15-25, 25-17, 25-22.
  • McGee led the Muskies with a 17 kills on 40 attempts and notched a team-high 18 digs.
  • Senior Kaitlin Noble added nine kills on 20 attempts.
  • Dickson led the Muskie attack with a team-high 30 assists.
  • Fatheree and Conrad each tallied 14 digs for Muskingum. Fatheree chipped in eight spikes, while Conrad dished out 14 assists.
  • Morgan Hartman led Otterbein with 16 kills on 43 attempts.
  • Vermillion and Amber Greely added 12 spikes each for the Cardinals.

The Difference - Game 2

  • The Muskies finished the match with 54 kills, 53 assists, 73 digs, and two blocks.
  • Otterbein ended the game with 53 kills, 51 assists, 66 digs, and five blocks.
