
The Muskingum volleyball team rose to 16th in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll that was released on Wednesday. The AVCA Division lll Top 25 Poll is selected by Division lll head coaches representing the eight NCAA regions.
The Muskies are off to an 8-0 start to the season and 8-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference play after defeating #22 Ohio Northern in both games last Friday, and sweeping Mount Union on Tuesday.
This season, the Muskies have only dropped four sets out of the 28 that they have played. As a team, Muskingum has tallied 383 kills, 337 assists, 574 digs, and 44 blocks. They are averaging 13.68 kills per set, 12.04 assists per set, and 20.5 digs per set while also registering a .247 hitting percentage on the 2021 spring campaign.
Senior Maddie McGee leads the Muskies with 87 kills averaging 3.35 kills per set and has also grabbed 47 digs. McGee was recently named OAC Volleyball Player of the Week earlier this season.
Senior Erin Dickson has logged a team-best 151 assists and averages 6.04 assists per set, while senior Brooke Fatheree leads the team in digs with 121 averaging 4.48 digs per set and is second on the team in kills with 78.
Sophomore Emma Dunham is third on the team in kills with 68 averaging 2.52 kills per set. Sophomore Gracie Collins has notched 102 digs averaging 4.25 digs per set, while sophomore Emma Conrad has logged 120 assists averaging 4.44 assists per set.
Muskingum hosts OAC foe Baldwin Wallace on Friday, March 26. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m. in the Steele Center.
