Volleyball ranked 25th in AVCA Division III Top 25 Poll

The Muskingum volleyball team was ranked 25th in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll that was released on Wednesday. The AVCA Division lll Top 25 Poll is selected by Division lll head coaches representing the eight NCAA regions.

The Muskies are off to a 4-0 start to the season and 4-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference play after conquering Wilmington in six straight sets on Tuesday.

This season, the Muskies have only dropped two sets out the 14 played and our currently on an eight set win streak. As a team, Muskingum has tallied 190 kills, 168 assists, and 264 kills. They are averaging 13.6 kills per set, 12 assists per set, and 18.9 digs per set while also registering a .280 hitting percentage on the 2021 campaign.

Senior Maddie McGee leads the Muskies with 41 kills averaging 3.42 kills per set and has also logged in 30 digs. McGee was recently named OAC Volleyball Player of the Week after her outstanding performance against John Carroll on Saturday.

Senior Erin Dickson has tallied a team-high 72 assists and averages 6.55 assists per set, while senior Brooke Fatheree has notched a team-high 56 digs averaging 4.31 digs per set and has grabbed 32 kills for the Muskies.

Sophomore Emma Dunham is second on the team in kills with 33 averaging 2.54 kills per set. Sophomore Emma Conrad is second on the team in assists with 64 averaging 4.92 assists per set, while sophomore Gracie Collins has dished out 43 digs on the year.

Muskingum hosts OAC foe Ohio Northern on Friday, March 19. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m. in the Steele Center.
