Volleyball receives at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament

The 11th-ranked Muskingum volleyball team received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament on Monday. The Muskies will travel to the Grand Rapids, Michigan Regional, and play Wittenberg on Thursday, November 14. Game time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.

The Muskies will be making their 10th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first since 2008. Muskingum will enter regional play at 26-3 overall and are fresh off of claiming a share of the Ohio Athletic Conference Regular-Season Championship for the first time since 1999.

Muskingum leads the all-time series against the Tigers, 19-14. Muskingum and Wittenberg battled earlier this season in New Concord on October 5. The Muskies won the match 3-1 (25-15, 25-27, 25-22, 25-12) and were paced by junior Brooke Fatheree, who had 21 kills and junior Brynn Guist, who had 10 kills. Junior Erin Dickson directed the attack with 42 assists, while junior Jessica Cottle led the backline with 18 digs.

Wittenberg, a member of the North Coast Atheltic Conference, enters regional play at 15-11 overall. 

The winner of the match will advance to the semifinals of the regional on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and face the winner of the Hope/Texas-Dallas match.
