The 15th-ranked Muskingum volleyball team conquered the Capital Crusaders on Tuesday, 3-0 (25-17, 25-6, 25-13).

How It Happened

• The Muskies locked in set one (25-17), two (25-6), and three (25-13).
• Junior Maddie McGee guided the Muskies with a team-high nine kills.
• Junior Brooke Fatheree chipped in seven kills, while junior Jada Briggs dished out six.
• Junior Erin Dickson led the Muskies with game-best 22 assists.
• Junior Jessica Cottle anchored the Muskie backline with a team-high 14 digs.
• Fatheree logged 11 digs.
• Freshman Emma Dunham, junior Kaitlin Noble, Briggs, and Dickson secured two blocks each.
• Cottle and Dunham also notched three service aces each.

Inside The Sets

• In set one, the Muskies and Crusaders traded points with neither team gaining more than a four-point lead early on. Muskingum tallied four straight points to secure a dominating 13-7 lead. The Muskies capitalized on Crusader errors to widen the gap to 19-12. Capital answered back with a 5-1 run to get within three points of the Muskies (20-17). Muskingum logged five unanswered points to lock in the 25-17 triumph.
• In set two, the Muskies registered back-to-back points to slide past the Crusaders with a score of 8-2. Muskingum secured a ferocious 13-0 run to expand the lead to 21-3. The Muskies tallied three consecutive points en route to the dominant 25-6 victory.
• In set three, the Muskies and Crusaders battled head to head until Muskingum retaliated with a six-point run to grab the lead with a score of 13-7. The Muskies continued to expand the differential, and a kill by freshman Alexis Hall secured the straight-set victory for the Muskies.
