The 19th-ranked Muskingum volleyball team conquered the Mount Union Purple Raiders on Tuesday in their Muskie Pride PINKOUT Game in front of an energizing crowd, 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-19).

• Junior Brooke Fatheree registered her 1,000th career kill against the Purple Raiders. 
• The Muskies are off to their best start since the 1999 campaign when they advanced to both the OAC and NCAA Tournaments. 
• Muskingum is currently ranked 19th. This marks Muskingum's highest national ranking since 2000.
• This marked the Muskies 14th straight-set victory of the 2019 season.
• The victory was the seventh straight for the Muskies.

How It Happened

• The Muskies took set one (25-22), two (25-21), and three (25-19).
• Junior Brynn Guist guided the Muskies with a team-high 14 kills on 25 attempts, securing a scorching .440 hitting percentage. 
• Junior Jada Briggs chipped in nine kills on 19 attempts, with a .421 hitting percentage. 
• Junior Maddie McGee and Fatheree dished out eight kills each. 
• Junior Erin Dickson led the Muskies with a game-high 37 assists. 
• Junior Jessica Cottle notched a team-high 15 digs. 
• Freshman Emma Conrad logged 12 digs, while Fatheree secured 11.

Inside The Sets

• In set one, the Muskies and Purple Raiders fought neck and neck with neither team gaining more than a two-point lead early on. Muskingum tallied five straight points to slide past Mount Union with a score of 10-6. Mount Union secured a 6-2 run to tie up play to 13-13. Muskingum retaliated with six unanswered points to give them a 20-16 edge on the Purple Raiders. Muskingum recorded the final point to take the set. 
• The battle continued into set two until the Muskies recorded back-to-back points to secure a three-point lead (18-15) on the Purple Raiders. Mount Union registered a 5-2 run to get within one point of the Muskies (22-21). Muskingum notched three straight points to lock in the set with a score of 25-21.
• Muskingum took control of set three early on with a score of 6-2. The Muskies tallied a 5-1 run to expand the lead to 11-4. The Purple Raiders fought to close the gap, but the Muskies continued to control play. A kill by Fatheree notched the 25-19 triumph for the Muskies.
