The Muskingum volleyball team went undefeated on day two of the OAC/HCAC Crossover hosted by Muskingum at the Recreation Center on Saturday. The Muskies defeated Transylvania in an exhausting five-set battle and crushed Hanover in three. Muskingum finished 4-0 for the two-day tournament.
Game 1—Muskingum 3, Transylvania 2 (25-27, 19-25, 25-17, 25-16, 15-13)
Up at the Net
- The Muskies were led by sophomore Taylour Fatheree and freshman Ashley Reynolds who hammered down 15 kills each.
- Senior Brooke Scott finished with nine kills.
- For Transylvania, Emily Romito recorded 29 kills.
Assisting the Attack
- Muskingum's attack was guided by sophomore Taylor Mathews with 48 assists.
- Sarah Jones logged 59 assists for Transylvania.
Defending the Court
- The back row was protected by sophomore libero Deidre Prince who had 16 digs.
- Mathews and freshman Jordan Youngs also had 14 digs each.
- Transylvania's Audrey Brown accounted for 22 digs.
Game 2—Muskingum 3, Hanover 0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-19)
Up at the Net
- Junior Katie Hunt led Muskingum with 12 kills.
- Fatheree logged nine kills and five blocks.
- Scott added nine spikes. Following the final match of the crossover, Scott was named to the all-tournament team.
- For Hanover, Courtney Crawford recorded seven kills.
Assisting the Attack
- Mathews aided the attack for the Muskies with 34 assists.
- Hanover's attack was led by Haley Alexander and Abby Crump with 14 and 13 assists, respectively.
Defending the Court
- Prince led the Muskie defense with 21 digs.
- Browning added 15 digs.
- Maddie Hartman, of Hanover, recorded 26 digs.
