The Muskingum volleyball team posted a 2-2 record at the Rose-Hulman Invitational on Saturday-Sunday. The Muskies defeated Franklin and Anderson, but fell against Rose-Hulman and Millikin.
Game 1—Muskingum 3, Franklin 2 (25-20, 24-26, 25-21, 19-25, 15-8)
How It Happened
- As a team, the Muskies had 59 kills, 105 digs and nine blocks.
At the Net
- Senior Brooke Scott slammed a career-high tying 20 kills and logged three blocks.
- Sophomore Taylour Fatheree had 15 kills.
- Junior Katie Hunt recorded eight kills and three blocks.
- Franklin was led by Brooke Harvey with 13 kills.
Assisting the Attack
- Sophomore Taylor Mathews aided the attack with 54 assists.
- Ashley Bazler guided the Franklin attack with 42 assists.
Defending the Court
- Sophomore libero Deidre Prince logged 31 digs.
- Senior Lane Browning and Mathews also helped on defense with 22 and 20 digs, respectively.
Game 2—Rose-Hulman 3, Muskingum 0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-16)
How It Happened
- Muskingum logged 27 kills, 56 digs and two blocks as a team.
At the Net
- Scott led the Muskies with six kills.
- Hunt and sophomore Kelsey Crooks added five kills each.
- Rose-Hulman was led by Marissa Gollnick with seven kills.
Assisting the Attack
- Mathews guided the Muskie attack with 18 assists.
- Sarah Jensen, of Rose-Hulman, had 16 assists.
Defending the Court
- The back row was protected by Prince who logged 21 digs.
- Rose-Hulman's Gabi Razma led the team with 24 digs.
Game 3—Millikin 3, Muskingum 1 (19-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-15)
How It Happened
- As a team, the Muskies had 36 kills, 62 digs and 11 blocks.
At the Net
- Scott hammered home 12 kills on 36 attempts to pace the Muskies.
- Fatheree had seven spikes and three blocks.
- Freshman Ashley Reynolds notched six kills and 14 digs.
- Kelsey Talkington led Millikan with 12 spikes.
Assisting the Attack
- Mathews recorded 29 assists to aid the Muskie attack.
- Emily Mihalkanin had 51 assists for Millikan.
Defending the Court
- Mathews had a team-high 21 digs.
- Cassidy Kingery registered 31 digs for Millikan.
Game 4—Muskingum 3, Anderson 2 (25-17, 23-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-11)
How It Happened
- As a team, the Muskies had 54 kills, 105 digs and 14 blocks.
At the Net
- Scott tied her career-high mark with 20 kills.
- Fatheree secured 11 kills and three blocks.
- Hunt had eight spikes and five blocks.
- Annie Bachman and Bayley Smith each logged 14 kills for Anderson.
Assisting the Attack
- Mathews recorded 32 assists and 21 digs.
- Riley Troyer and Sydney Coffman combined to register 34 assists.
Defending the Court
- Prince had 25 digs to pace the Muskies.
- Reynolds added 23 digs and five spikes.
- Meghan Wade recorded 32 digs for Anderson
