Showdown at the Rec Center

The Muskingum volleyball team gave a total team effort against 9th-ranked Mount Union in the Recreation Center on Tuesday night.

The Muskies pushed the Purple Raiders before falling in three tough sets (25-19, 25-21, 25-16).

Muskingum now stands at 10-13 overall and 1-5 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Muskies next host rival Heidelberg on Saturday, October 26. Match time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

Freshman Katie Hunt and sophomore Brooke Scott led the Muskie net attack with nine kills each. Hunt also added two blocks.

Freshman Kaleigh Hendrix directed the attack with 16 assists and two service aces. Junior Alexa Abrams added an 11-assist, 11-dig, five-kill effort. 

Senior Kim Seitter paced the back row with 19 digs and senior Hanna Rose also added 11 digs. 

Mount Union (25-3, 6-0) was led by Nicole Synder's 12 kills. Sarah Schleich had 27 assists and Lauren Mastroine logged 20 digs to aid the Purple Raiders.
