Muskingum spikes Franciscan in straight sets

The Muskingum University volleyball team dominated Franciscan University on Wednesday evening, adding another win to their record. The Muskies took the match, 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-16).

Muskingum sophomore Brooke Scott led the Muskie attack with 10 kills. Senior Hanna Rose trailed close behind with nine kills. Freshmen Emily Francis and Kaleigh Hendrix set up the attacks with 11 and 13 assists, respectively.

Sophomore Heather Smith stepped up to the libero position and led the Muskies in digs with 27. Junior Alexa Abrams recorded four kills and 12 digs.

Franciscan (4-8) was led by Dani Link with six kills and 11 digs. Amy Okeefe registered 11 assists and Samantha Kelly added 15 digs.

With the win, Muskingum moves to 8-3 overall. The Muskies next travel to Capital University this weekend for the OAC/HCAC Challenge. Their first match is scheduled against Bluffton University on Friday, September 20 at 2:00 p.m.
