Women's Indoor Track & Field secures second at Muskie Meet #4

The Muskingum women's indoor track & field team secured a second place finish at the Muskie Meet #4 in the Bullock Health and Wellness Complex. The Muskies finished the event with a score of 123 points.

The Basics

  • Info: As a team, the Muskies finished with 123 points and ended the event in second place.

On the Track

  • The women's 4x200 meter relay team comprised of freshman Mea Kaufman, juniors Teasia Jones, Liberty Bunting, and Averi Wallace logged a first place finish with a time of 1:50.81.
  • Junior Emily Keylor finished in second place in the 400 meters with a time of 1:04.61.
  • Junior Abigail Derry logged a second place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:23.12.
  • Junior Alyssa Heinrichs logged a third place finish in the 1000 meter with a time of 3:43.50.
  • In the 3000 meters, freshman Sarah Lute earned third place with a time of 12:00.75.
  • In the 200-meter junior Averi Wallace finished third with a time of 27.49 and freshman Mea Kaufman finished fourth with a time of 28.00. Junior Teasia Jones also logged a sixth place finish.
  • Freshman Hannah Metzger placed fifth in the one mile with a time of 5:57.18.
  • Also in the one mile run was sophomore Averi Schwendeman logging a sixth place finish with a time of 6:01.00 and junior Jillian Ayres placing eighth with a time of 6:24.65.
  • In the 60 meter hurdles junior Savannah Strawmyer finished seventh with a time of 10.47.
  • Freshman Mea Kaufman snagged a sixth-place finish with a time of 8.29 in the 60 meters.
  • Also securing points for the Muskies in the 400 meter was junior Liberty Bunting, freshman Maura Seibert, and freshman Bailey Stapleton.

On the Field

  • Sophomore Jessica Dotson secured second in the shot put event with a mark of 11.68 meters.
  • Junior Kylie Andres finished fourth in the weight throw event with a mark of 14.78 meters. Also in the weight throw was junior Avrie O'Neil addd a fifth place finish and junior Amber Corll followed that up with a sixth place finish.
  • Junior Savannah Strawmyer logged a fifth place finish after hitting a mark of 2.81 meters in the pole vault event.
  • Sophomore Marissa Hill secured a fourth-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.56 meters. Seibert added a sixth place finish in the high jump.
  • Senior Jacquelynn Grinnell and junior Teasia Jones logged a seventh and eighth place finish with marks of 4.52 meters and 4.46 meters.
  • Also scoring points in the shot put was senior Chloe Spencer, freshman Jasmine Matthews, and freshman Kendra Monnin-Lee.

Up Next

  • The Muskies will be back in action on Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1 when they compete in the OAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. The event is hosted by Ohio Northern University and is set to take place inside the ONU Sports Center in Ada, Ohio.
