#WinsDay features the Muskingum women's tennis team's victory over Waynesburg on Saturday, September 21 in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. The Muskies defeated the Yellow Jackets 5-4 in a nail-biting battle to earn head coach Bridget Barrett her first career win.
Waynesburg swept doubles play to jump out to an early 3-0 lead. The Muskies answered back with wins in five-of-six singles matches to secure their first victory of the year.
Junior Kayla Hall paved the way for the Muskies with a dominating 6-2, 6-1 victory over Madison Trent in second singles. Sophomore Sara Welsh beat Noelle Hughes at third singles 6-3, 3-6, 10-4. Freshman Evelyn Pauquette grabbed a 6-0, 6-2 triumph over Lauren Wadsworth in fourth singles, while freshman Emma Bachman secured a 6-0, 5-7, 10-4 win over Abby Walbrown in fifth singles. Freshman McKinzie Buckmaster rounded out the effort for the Muskies with a 6-4, 6-0 triumph over Katie Fresch in six singles.
