Waynesburg stings Women's Tennis

The Muskingum women's tennis team fell at Waynesburg on Saturday afternoon, 9-1.

Freshman Sara Welsh led the Muskies with her first career collegiate win. Welsh delivered a 7-5, 6-2 win at first singles against Sierra Jones. Welsh and sophomore Sarah Stockdale slipped 8-4 at first doubles against Kyleigh Schmidt and Lauren Wadsworth.

Stockdale lost 6-2, 6-3 at second singles against Sierra Stevens, and sophomore Kayla Hall lost 6-1, 6-4 at third singles against Noelle Hughes.

Waynesburg benefited from receiving five forfeit wins to secure the match win. 

Muskingum next hosts Earlham on Sunday, September 23. Match time is slated for 12:00 p.m. at Zanesville High School.
