Women’s Soccer hosts Otterbein in Cancer Awareness Game

The Muskingum women's soccer team hosted OAC-foe Otterbein for its Cancer Awareness Game on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals defeated the Muskies, 3-0.

The Basics

How it Happened

  • Otterbein opened their scoring up at the 19:10 mark off a Bailey Zanella header. 
  • Despite Otterbein's 11 first-half shots, the Muskingum defense held the Cardinal offense to a 1-0 lead at the half. 
  • Aubrey Zanella extended the Cardinal lead 2-0 at the 64:19 mark off a strike from 30-yards out.
  • Otterbein's final goal came at the 86:38 mark from Morgan Somers to cap off a 3-0 victory. 

Inside the Numbers

  • Freshman Isabella Peña led the Muskie attack with one shot.
  • Junior goalkeeper Kelly Buck secured a career-high 14 saves in 78:59 minutes of work between the pipes.
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Jennafer Roberts snagged two saves in 11:01 minutes of work.
  • Morgan Somers, Bailey Zanella, and Aubrey Zanella led the Cardinal attack with one goal apiece.
