Women’s Soccer ready to kick-off 2022 Campaign

Under the direction of third-year head coach Dani Gunderson, the Muskingum women's soccer team will look to elevate the program to be an Ohio Athletic Conference contender this 2022 season. The Muskies begin their season on Thursday, September 1, when they travel to non-conference opponent Washington & Jefferson.

Coach Gunderson will have nine returning letterwinners to help lead the Muskie squad – senior defender Jenna Jordan, sophomore defender/forward Madison Yenke, sophomore midfielder Morgan Meisel, sophomore midfielder Jillian Laposky, senior forward Skyllar Strong, senior defender Monique Reil, senior defender Sheridyn Woofter, and senior forward Bekah Knight. Gunderson will also look to a strong freshman class to make an immediate impact as the Muskies push for an OAC Tournament Berth.

Meisel, a Third Team All-OAC winner, will look to be a key contributor to the Muskie offense this season. Meisel ended her freshman campaign starting in all 19 games for the Muskies with a team-high eight goals.

Yenke and Laposky will also look to help anchor the Muskie attack. Last season, Yenke led the team with five assists, while Laposky registered one goal and an assist.

Muskingum's home-opener will be on Sunday, September 4, when they host Olivet for a 2:00 p.m. start. The Muskies began OAC play on Saturday, October 1, when they travel to take on Heidelberg for a 1:00 p.m. kick-off. All home games will feature live video and live stats on the Muskie Sports Network and can be accessed on fightingmuskies.com or the OAC TV app.
