Women's Soccer celebrates Parents' Day

The Muskingum women's soccer team celebrated its 20th Annual Parents' Day against Franciscan on Saturday in McConagha Stadium. Despite the Muskies scoring first, the Barons rallied past Muskingum 2-1 in double overtime.

How It Happened

  • Muskingum jumped out to the 1-0 lead in the 24th minute on junior Tori Stuard's goal off an assist from senior Jessica Gutierrez.
  • The Muskies finished the contest with 15 shots and one corner kick.
  • Senior Morgan Price and freshman Emily Fischer led the attack with four shots each. 
  • Franciscan would find the equalizer in the 84th minute to push overtime.
  • The Barons were led by Anna McCarty with three shots and one goal, which included the game-winning strike in the 102nd minute.
  • Franciscan ended the outing with 17 shots, seven on goal.
  • Muskingum recognized all its players, parents and family members prior to the start of the game.

Between the Pipes

  • Senior Liz Mitchell logged 102 minutes in frame, making five saves and surrendering two goals.
  • Sarah Luebking finished the contest with five saves for the Barons.
