Women's soccer celebrates Parents' Day

The Muskingum women's soccer team celebrated its 19th Annual Parents' Day against LaRoche on Saturday in McConagha Stadium. Despite the Muskies scoring first, the Redhawks rallied past Muskingum for a 5-1 win.

How It Happened

  • Muskingum grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute on junior captain Morgan Prices' goal off a corner kick. Freshman Rachael Waite recorded the assist.
  • The Muskies ended the outing with 13 shots and one corner kick.
  • Sophomore Miranda Bishop led the attack with five shots, including four on frame.
  • Freshman Hailey Ferguson added four shots to aid the attack.
  • Muskingum trailed 2-1 at the half.
  • The Redhawks were paced by five different scorers (Kerri Phillis, Vanessa Ceravolo, Alyssa Nakles, Kelly Acierno, Mollie Renk).
  • LaRoche ended the outing with 21 shots and five corner kicks.
  • Muskingum recognized all its players and parents and family members prior to the start of the game.

Between The Pipes

  • Liz Mitchell played the opening 81 minutes in frame and allowed four goals and made five saves. Freshman Heather Mitchell played the final nine minutes in frame and allowed one goal.
  • Jessica Welka and Destiney Davis combined to make seven saves and allow one goal.
