Women's soccer mounts comeback to beat North Park

The Muskingum women's soccer team scored two unanswered goals to rally past North Park at the Scarlet Hawk Classic in Chicago on Sunday, 2-1.

The Basics

  • Records: Muskingum (1-3-1 overall), North Park (1-4 overall)
  • Location: Chicago, Illinois - at Stuart Field
  • Tournament Notes: Muskingum finished tied for first at the Scarlet Hawk Classic with a 1-0-1 mark. Senior captain Hailey Dickey, freshman Rachael Waite and junior Liz Mitchell were named to the all-tournament team.

How It Happened

  • After falling behind 1-0 after 10 minutes of play, Waite evened the game on her first career goal in the 36th minute. The blast was from outside of the box to the far post. 
  • Dickey delivered the game-winning strike on a penalty kick in the 79th minute. She ended the game with four shots, including two on frame.
  • Freshman Hailey Ferguson added three shots to aid the Muskie attack.
  • Muskingum ended the outing with 11 shots and three corner kicks.
  • Annika Nyquist led North Park with five shots and one goal.
  • Kelci Deal added six shots and one assist.
  • North Park mustered 25 shots and did not attempt a corner kick.

Between The Pipes

  • Mitchell played the entire game in frame and recorded a season-high 11 saves and allowed one goal.
  • Meghan Ellis played all 90 minutes in goal and made three saves and allowed two goals.
