The Muskingum women's soccer team fell at Mount St. Joseph on a scorching Saturday afternoon, 7-0.

  • The Lions tallied a goal in the opening two minutes of play to grab the early advantage.
  • Mount St. Joesph erupted for six second-half goals to secure the shutout.
  • Muskingum was limited to just two shots in the contest.
  • Senior captain Hailey Dickey and junior Jessica Gutierrez each logged a Muskie strike.
  • Megan Grubb notched a hat trick to lead the lions. 
  • Mount St. Joseph ended the contest with a 32-2 advantage in shots and 6-3 edge in corner kicks.

Between The Pipes

  • The Muskies had a trio of keepers play in goal. Freshman Heather Maxwell started the game and played the opening 45 minutes and allowed one goal. Freshman Izzie Smith and junior Liz Mitchell split time in the second half and each allowed three goals.
  • Michelle Hessling played all 90 minutes for the Lions and made one save en route to the shutout.
