
Muskingum freshman Robert Edwards Jr. was honored for his excellence in the classroom and on the mat by being named an NWCA Scholar All-American.
Edwards, a history education major, led the Muskies with 28 wins, 11 falls, 114 team points, and 56 takedowns. He led Muskingum at the NCAA Regional Championships with an eighth-place finish in the 285-pound weight class.
To be honored with NWCA Scholar All-American accolades, student-athletes must place in the top 8 in the regional tournament or wrestle at least 15 matches and have a win percentage greater than 66%. Student-athletes must also have an average GPA of 3.2 over the last 2 semesters or quarters or last 3 trimesters or must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2.
