The Muskingum wrestling team competed in the Ohio Northern Invitational on Saturday morning. The Muskies placed 11th out of 12 teams.
The Basics
- Location: The ONU Sports Center – Ada, Ohio
- The Muskies scored 27 points, to place 11 out of 12 total teams.
On The Mat
- Sophomore Zeke Poulos wrestled in the 157-pound weight class. Poulos earned a win by forfeit and pin over Jaizik Sanabria (Washington & Jefferson) in 2:50. Poulos added 5.5 points to the Muskies' team total.
- Freshman Rugby Meza competed in the 174-pound weight class. Meza secured a win by fall over Kwest Thomas (Mount St. Joseph) in 6:11. Meza finished the day with a 1-2 record and contributed 4.0 team points.
- Freshman Robert Edwards Jr. had an impressive showing in the heavyweight division, finishing in 4th place with a 5-2 record. Edwards notched wins by tech fall, fall, and decision. Edwards Jr. totaled 17.5 team points for the Muskies.
- Freshman Joseph Slatzer also wrestled in the 133-pound weight class.
