Wrestling Traveled to the Washington & Jefferson Invitational

On Saturday morning the Muskingum Wrestling team traveled to the Washington & Jefferson Invitational.

The Basics

  • The Muskies finished 12/13.
  • Location: Salvitti Family Gymnasium – Washington, Pa.

On The Mat

  • Freshman Joseph Slatzer competed in the 133-weight class. Slatzer won by technical fall in one match and secured a pin at the 4:04 mark in another. He finished the day with a record of 2-2.
  • Rushi Patel wrestled in the 141-weight class, finishing the day with a 0-2 record.
  • Aiden Johnson competed in the 157-weight class. Johnson won one match by pin at the 2:42 mark and and two by technical falls. He finished in sixth place with a record of 2-2.
  • Zack Poulus wrestled in the 165-weight class. Poulus earned a pin at 2:37 in his first match, won his third match by major decision, and won his fourth match with a 9-4 score. He finished the day with a 3-2 record.
  • Rugby Meza competed in the 184-weight class. Meza earned his first win by pin at the 3:53 mark and finished the day with a 1-2 record.
  • Robert Edwards Jr. wrestled in the 285-weight class. Edwards won his first match by pin at the 4:40 mark and his second match with a 9-2 decision. He ended the day with a 2-2 record.
