On Saturday morning the Muskingum wrestling team competed in the Mount Union Invitational.

Notables.

  • This event opened the 2024-25 season for the Muskingum wrestling team.

The Basics

  • As a team the Muskies placed 10th.
  • Location: Timken Gymnasium – Alliance, Ohio

On The Mat

  • Freshman Joseph Slatzer competed in the 133 weight class. Slatzer went 0-2, losing by technical fall to Chase Vanderhorst and by major decision to Matt Englehardt.
  • Sophomore Zeke Poulos wrestled in the 165 weight class. Poulos also finished 0-2, falling to Teagan Hendricks by technical fall and losing to Levi Abbott by major decision.
  • Freshman Rugby Meza battled in the 197 weight class. Meza ended 0-2 after being pinned by Britton Sorenson and losing by technical fall to Zachary Jacobs.
  • Freshman Robert Edwards Jr. wrestled in the 285 weight class. Edwards finished 0-2, losing a closely contested match by decision to Zach Kuneff and was pinned by Gavin Harper in his secound match.
