Wrestling opens season at Washington & Jefferson Invite

The Muskingum wrestling team opened their season with a strong outing at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational.

The Basics

  • Location: Ross Recreation Center – Washington, Pa.
  • The Muskies finished 13th in the 17-team field.
  • Muskingum scored 30 points.
  • Lake Erie won the team title.

On the Mat

  • The Muskies were led by junior Noah DeHainaut who placed sixth in the 197-pound weight class. DeHainaut finished 4-2 on the day with all his wins coming by decision.
  • Junior Tanner Donathan had a solid outing for the Muskies in the 141-pound weight class. Donathan finished 3-2 on the day, winning all of his matches by decision.
  • The following Muskies also notched one win in their respective weight classes: Noah Houchins (125), Hunter Heck (125), Isaac Sell (157), Carter Layton (174), Tate Sterling (184), and Andrew McFee (285).
