The Muskingum wrestling team competed at the Washington & Lee Duals on Monday.

The Muskies fell in the opening dual against Southern Virginia, 27-15. Muskingum faced Averett in the second match and suffered a 31-15 setback. The Muskies were defeated 37-14 in their final bout against host #22 Washington & Lee.

Washington & Lee Dual Highlights

• Senior Jordan Burkholder went 3-0 wrestling in the 125/33 weight classes. He opened with a 9-8 decision against Aaron Freidhof of Southern Virginia and then grabbed a 9-5 decision against Samuel Braswell of Averett. Burkholder capped off his perfect day winning by forfeit against #22 Washington & Lee. 
• Senior Toby Warrington helped guide the Muskies with a 2-1 mark in the 149/57 weight classes. He suffered a fall against Christopher Fletcher of Southern Virginia at the 4:08 juncture then grabbed a 5-2 decision against Caleb Harmon of Averett. Warrington capped off his day with an exciting 10-8 victory in overtime against Bryce Crew of #22 Washington & Lee.
• Senior Tanner Walker posted a 2-1 record in the 165-pound class. In his opening match, Walker pinned Kyle York of Southern Virginia at the 2:48 mark. Then he lost by decision (10-1) against Jared Lough of Averett. Walker completed the competition with a fall against Kevin Thole of #22 Washington & Lee at the 6:24 juncture.
