Hiram surges past women's lacrosse

Hiram scored 10 first-half goals to take control of the outing en route to handing Muskingum a 15-4 setback on a wet Thursday night in McConagha Stadium.

The Muskingum attack was led by freshman Paige Watterman who recorded a hat trick on six shots. Watterman also recorded six ground balls. 

Senior Melissa Emmerich also scored for the Muskies. Emmerich ended the game with three shots.

Freshman Ashley Adams had a team-best seven shots and senior Brianna Bonacci recorded one assist. Muskingum (0-7) ended the contest with 20 shots.

Freshman Samantha Abrahamsen played all 60 minutes in frame and recorded two saves.

Hiram (3-5) had 23 shots and was led by Sierah Ray, Jolyn Grover, Autumn Osgood and Rebecca Goetz who all netted a hat trick.  

Rachel Metcalf played the entire game in goal and made nine saves.

The Terriers jumped out to an 8-0 lead through the opening 16 minutes of play to take charge of the game. Hiram led 10-1 at the break.

Muskingum (0-7) next opens Ohio Athletic Conference play at home against Otterbein on Wednesday, April 8. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m. in McConagha Stadium.
