Women's Bowling jumps to 12th in latest USBC National Polls

The Muskingum women's bowling team jumped to 12th in the latest United States Bowling Congress (USBC) National Poll following a dominant weekend where they secured the Ohio Bowling Conference title.

The women's bowling team receives the 12th spot in the USBC National Poll following a first place finish at the Ohio Bowling Conference #4. The Muskies dominated the tournament, besting the second place team by 395 total pins. The Muskies also tallied on multiple records at the event including breaking the school record for the four game Baker set total and breaking the school record for the 28 game Baker total. 

At the Ohio Bowling Conference #4 the Muskies only competed in Baker games. The athletes competing in the event included the following: senior Kelsey Wilson, senior Hailey Yingst, junior Elizabeth Springsteen, junior Lillian Matteson, sophomore Tayler Clark, freshman Bridget Cake, and freshman Faith Smith.

To recap - the Muskies this season have won at the DO Apparel/Brunswick, the Ohio Bowling Conference #1, the Unicorn Classic, and now the Ohio Bowling Conference #4. The Muskies have also added a runner-up finish at the Muskie Mash and two fourth place finishes at the Ohio Bowling Conference #2 and the Ohio Bowling Conference #3. The Muskies most recent result includes a 10th place finish at the Collegiate Shoot-Out Intercollegiate.

The Muskies also took the Ohio Bowling Conference team title this season for their tremendous play in conference. Multiple Muskies were honored for their play in conference this season. Sophomore Tayler Clark was honored with 1st Team All-OBC, Junior Elizabeth Springsteen was recognized with 2nd Team All-OBC honors, and senior Kelsey Wilson was awarded Honorable Mention All-OBC. Head Coach Doug Smith was also recognized with the Ohio Bowling Conference Women's Bowling Coach of the Year for leading the Muskies this season.

The Muskies will take this ranking into their next bout at the Hoosier Classic this weekend.
