Women's Basketball uses strong defensive performance to rout Pitt.-Greensburg

The Muskingum women's basketball team dominated Pitt.-Greensburg in a 85-74 contest that saw junior guard Tori Jones score 22 points to lead the Muskies. Head Coach Alison McCarthy directed the Muskies to the victory and earned her first career win as a collegiate head coach.

  • Junior Tori Jones led the highly efficient Muskies with 22 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Jones shot 9-of-15 (60.0%) from the field and added a block and steal to her impressive game. 
  • Junior Claudia Harrington tallied 13 points while adding seven rebounds. Harrington also logged three steals and a block to help solidify the defense. 
  • Junior Courtney Hivick scored 10 points, grabbed two rebounds, dished out three assists, and tied the most steals in the game for Muskingum with four. 
  • Junior Laurell Brown scored 10 points on a near perfect 5-of-6 (83.3%) from the field. Brown also contributed to the defensive pressure with one steal.
  • Freshman Mckenna Baney added nine points, six rebounds, one assist, and two steals for Muskingum.
  • Junior Lizzy Allen tallied eight points, six assists, three rebounds, and tied the most steals for Muskingum with four. 
  • Senior Kenzie Bicking scored five points and added a steal.
  • Sophomore Kendall Dye, freshman Gracie Brown, freshman Julia Jaenke, and freshman Makiya Edwards each rounded out the Muskie scoring with two points.
  • Pitt.-Greensburg shot 23-of-53 (43.4%) from the field, 15-of-29 (51.7%) from behind the arc, and 13-of-18 (72.2%) from the free-throw line.
  • Melina Maietta led Pitt.-Greensburg with 32 points and five rebounds.
