Women’s Basketball crowned statistical National Champion in free throw shooting percentage

The Muskingum women's basketball team ended the 2022-23 season ranked first in free-throw shooting percentage for all NCAA Division III women's basketball programs.

The Muskies converted 233-of-295 from the charity stripe finishing with a .789 accuracy.

The mark wiped out the previous school record of .771 (323-of-419) set during the 2017-18 season.

The team was perfect from the free-throw line in five contests this season highlighted by a 15-of-15 performance at Ohio Wesleyan.

The Muskies also used a 23-of-25 showing from the charity stripe against 11th-ranked Ohio Northern to fuel the Muskies' thrilling 89-83 double-overtime season-finale victory. Sophomore Caitlyn DeMassimo set the school record for three throws made in a game (16) and free throws attempted in a game (17) to help propel Muskingum to the win.
