Women’s Basketball endures setback at Capital

The Muskingum women's basketball team dropped a 62-52 decision to Capital on Wednesday evening.

Records: Muskingum (3-4 Overall, 0-2 OAC), Capital (6-2 Overall, 1-1 OAC)

 Inside the Numbers 

  • Junior Taylor DeMassimo led Muskingum with 16 points, a team-high seven rebounds and three assists.
  • Freshman Claudia Harrington finished the night with 11 points and six rebounds.
  • Sophomore Halle Morehead added six points and dished out a team-high four assists, while freshman Anna Lippiatt also chipped in six points and six boards.
  • Freshman Elizabeth Key contributed eight points and three rebounds off the bench for Muskingum.
  • Capital was led by Bri O'Connor with 18 points and six steals, while Laney Murphy added 16 points and four rebounds.
  • As a team, Muskingum shot 20-for-43 (46.5%) from the floor, while Capital finished 23-for-60 (38.3%) from the field.
  • Muskingum went 9-for-21 (42.9%) from beyond the arc, while Capital fired 5-for-17 (29.4%) from three-point range.
  • Muskingum won the rebounding battle 32-27, while the Comets outscored the Muskies in the paint 32-12.
  • Muskingum's bench contributed 11 points, while Capital's added six.
