Muskies’ second-half rally comes up short versus John Carroll

After trailing by 12 at the break, the Muskingum women's basketball team outscored John Carroll 31-22 in the second half but fell just short in their OAC opener on Saturday.

  • The Muskies were led by freshman Claudia Harrington with a team-high 16 points and six rebounds.
  • Junior Taylor DeMassimo tallied 11 points, grabbed five rebounds, and had two steals.
  •  Sophomore Halle Morehead also added 11 points and dished out a team-high six assists.
  • Freshman Anna Lippiatt finished with seven points and four boards, while freshman Tori Jones contributed seven points and three assists off the bench. 
  • John Carroll was led by Kaelyn Underwood with 17 points, while Ava Ryncarz chipped in 15 points and seven rebounds.
  • Muskingum shot 23-for-49 (46.9%) from the field, while the Blue Streaks finished 24-for-58 (41.4%).
  • Muskingum shot 5-for-10 (50%) from three, while John Carroll shot a cold 3-for-16 (18.8%).
  • The Muskies forced 12 Blue Streak turnovers and converted those into 17 points off turnovers, while Muskingum turned the ball over 17 times which translated to 13 points for John Carroll.
  • John Carroll finished with a 32-25 edge in rebounds, while both teams ended the contest with 26 points in the paint. 
  • The Blue Streaks saw their bench contribute 17 points, while Muskingum's bench finished with 12 points on the night.
