Women’s Basketball dominates Waynesburg, improves to 3-1

Behind a fast start, clutch shots, and defensive stops, the Muskingum women's basketball team posted a dominating 96-45 home victory over Waynesburg in the Steele Center Saturday evening.

Inside the Numbers

  • The Muskies were led by Freshman Claudia Harrington who totaled a career-high 23 points on 10-of-12 (83.3%) shooting from the field. Harrington also added four steals, four assists, and four rebounds to secure the Muskies to victory.
  • Junior Taylor DeMassimo also had a solid outing, notching 14 points, while going 5-of-7 (71.4%) from the field and 2-of-4 (50.0%) from three. DeMassimo also added six rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
  • Freshman Anna Lippiatt chipped in a season-high 13 points off the bench, going a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc and finishing 4-of-7 (57.1%) from the field.
  • Sophomore Caitlyn DeMassimo finished with 12 points and snagged a game-high eight rebounds.
  • Aiding Muskingum to its victory was a 40-22 advantage in points in the paint.
  • The Muskies outrebounded the Yellow Jackets 41-29 en route to a 14-6 advantage on second-chance points.
  • Muskingum forced 21 Waynesburg turnovers and converted them into a dominating 30-4 advantage on points-off-turnovers.
  • The Muskies saw their bench contribute 37 points, while Waynesburg's bench finished with 16 points on the evening.
  • As a team, Muskingum shot 35-of-63 (55.6%) from the field, 13-of-26 (50.0%) from beyond the arc, and finished 13-of-16 (81.3%) from the charity stripe.
  • Muskingum finished with 41 rebounds, 27 assists, and 16 steals.
  • Waynesburg was led by Anika Dansby and Madison Platt who each finished with 11 points.
