The Muskingum women's basketball team used hot shooting en route to secure an 82-54 season-opening victory over Bethany on Friday evening to tip off the 2022-23 season. The victory also marked the first win as a Muskie for Head Coach Kelly Broderick.

- The Muskies were led by junior Taylor DeMassimo with 18 points, five rebounds, and two assists. DeMassimo shot 7-of-13 (53.8%) from the field and went 3-of-8 (37.5%) from beyond the arc.
- Sophomore Halle Morehead also had a solid outing for Muskingum, registering 15 points and going 5-of-7 (55.6%) from the field. Morehead tallied a team-high five steals and dished out three assists on the evening.
- Freshman Claudia Harrington added 10 points, three assists, one steal, and five rebounds, while freshman Tori Jones chipped in nine points.
- Freshman Lizzy Allen dished out a team-high seven assists, tallied one steal, and grabbed five rebounds for the Muskies as well.
- Sophomore Caitlyn DeMassimo snagged five rebounds and registered seven points and two assists.
- As a team, the Muskies shot 51.6% from the field, while Bethany was held to 32.7%.
- Aiding Muskingum to its victory was a 42-26 advantage in points in the paint.
- The Muskies forced 21 Bison turnovers and converted them into a 22-10 edge on points-off-turnovers.
- Muskingum finished with 34 rebounds, 18 assists, and 13 steals.
- Makenzee Mason and Lindsey Garrison led Bethany with 11 points each.
- Bethany finished with 29 rebounds, three assists, and 11 steals.
