Women's Basketball honored with WBCA Honor Roll Special Mention accolades

The Muskingum women's basketball team was honored for their outstanding work in the classroom by being named Women's Basketball Coaches Association Honor Roll Special Mention for the 2021-22 season.

The Muskies achieved a 3.47 GPA and had five student-athletes named to the Academic All-OAC Honor Roll - senior Sarah Miller, senior Tanner Wirth, junior Casey Smith, sophomore Baileigh Bishop, and sophomore Taylor DeMassimo.

Muskingum also experienced success on the court, registering its first 10-win season since the 2016-17 campaign. The Muskies advanced to the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament and won its first tournament game since the 2012-13 season.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II, and III, NAIA, and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2021-22 season is the 27th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
