Behind Taylor DeMassimo's career-high 24 points, the Muskingum women's basketball team defeated Heidelberg 80-71 in OAC action.

How it Happened
- After both teams struggled to find consistent offense early, the Muskies used a 13-4 spurt in the first quarter to open up an 18-9 lead.
- Using hot shooting in the second quarter, the Muskies were able to build a 41-24 lead late in the period, their largest lead of the first-half.
- Muskingum ultimately outscored the Student Princes 23-16 in the second quarter, and held a 43-30 advantage heading into halftime.
- Despite the Muskies extending their lead to 16 points with two minutes left in the third quarter, the Student Princes were able to use a 9-3 run to close the period and cut the Muskie advantage to 66-56 heading into the fourth.
- Although the Student Princes were able to trim the Muskie lead down to seven, Muskingum was able to use clutch fourth quarter shooting to secure their 80-71 victory.
Inside the Numbers
- The Muskies were led by sophomore Taylor DeMassimo who registered a career-high 24 points to go along with six rebounds.
- Sophomore Abby Jones notched 15 points for Muskingum, while freshman Caitlyn DeMassimo netted 11 points and four assists.
- Senior Tanner Wirth chipped in eight points and four rebounds, while freshman Halle Morehead totaled six points and six rebounds.
- Heidelberg was led by Marissa Thomas with 16 points.
- On the game, Muskingum shot 27-of-53 (50.9%) from the field, while Heidelberg went 24-of-66 (36.4%).
- The Muskies went 8-of-18 (44.4%) from deep, while the Student Princes shot 3-of-16 (18.8%) from three.
- Muskingum never trailed in the ballgame, and held a lead for 37:19 out of 40 minutes.
