How it Happened
In the first quarter, the contest remained tight with neither team claiming more than a four-point lead early on. With less than 10 seconds remaining on the clock, Danielle Horsley drilled a long ball to slide past the Muskies with a score of 19-16. Muskingum and Otterbein continued to trade baskets, until Otterbein tallied five straight points to expand the lead to 33-28. Muskingum retaliated with a 7-0 run to grab a two-point advantage (35-33) at the break.
In the third quarter, the Cardinals outscored the Muskies 20-12 to grab a 53-47 lead going into the fourth quarter. The contest remained close until the Cardinals locked in a 15-6 run to secure the 74-64 lead.
