The Muskingum women's basketball team dropped a heartbreaker in overtime against Heidelberg on Saturday, 78-74.

  • Maddy Crawford directed the Student Princes with a double-double. Crawford locked in 25 points and grabbed 17 rebounds.
  • Brittanie Ulmer amassed 20 points, while Brooke Beamer registered 14 points and Ali Adelsperger recorded 12.
  • Beamer also locked in five assists and tallied six steals.

Game Highlights

The Muskies and Student Princes headed into overtime with the score tied 65-65. Muskingum and Heidelberg traded baskets with neither team taking more than a three-point lead. At the 3:51 juncture, Crawford collected a free-throw to ignite an 11-3 (78-72) run for the Student Princes. Lang secured a layup in an attempt to close the gap, but the Student Princes locked in a 78-74 overtime victory.

In the first quarter, the Muskies jumped out to an early 7-0 lead. Muskingum then locked in back-to-back points to expand the deficit to 14-5. The Muskies and Student Princes traded baskets and Muskingum managed to grab a 20-11 advantage going into the second quarter. The Student Princes secured two straight layups to get within five-points (20-15) of Muskingum. The Muskies tallied a 15-9 surge to take a 38-24 lead at the break.

Heidelberg outscored the Muskies in the third (17-11) and fourth (24-16) quarters to tie up play to 65-65.
