Women's Basketball falls to Marietta
The Muskingum women's basketball team dropped a hard-fought battle to the Marietta Pioneers on Wednesday, 84-72.

Notables
  • Junior Sam Filiaggi registered a double-double. Filiaggi notched a career-high 23 points and tallied 10 rebounds. 
  • Marietta had four players who logged double-digit points.
Inside the Numbers
  • Muskingum ended the contest shooting 25-of-56 (44.6%) from the field.
  • Sophomore Olivia Lang secured 12 points, shooting 4-of-6 from the field (66.7%) and 3-of-3 from behind the arc (100.0%).
  • Freshman Casey Smith and sophomore Sarah Miller amassed eight points each. 
  • Freshman Rileigh Simpson registered a team-best four assists. 
  • Junior Camay Baylock grabbed three steals. 
  • Marietta ended the contest shooting 26-of-66 (39.4%) in the field and 26-of-39 (66.7%) from the free-throw line.
  • Alexis Enochs led the charge with a game-best 24 points, shooting 9-of-14 (64.3%) from the field and 5-of-7 from the free-throw line (71.4%). 
  • Devin Hefner logged 20 points and secured a game-high five steals. 
  • Marlo Taylor and Camille Cummins recorded 10 points each. 
  • Muskingum outscored the Pioneers in bench points, 24-15.
Game Highlights
 
In the first quarter, the Pioneers jumped out to an early 13-7 lead. The Muskies fought back, but Marietta managed to expand the gap to 24-14 with less than a minute remaining. The Muskies secured five unanswered points to trim the deficit to 24-19 going into the second quarter. Muskingum came out hot and tallied five straight points to tie up play to 24-24. The contest remained tight until Filiaggi connected a layup to spark an 11-3 run to give the Muskies a 41-32 lead going into the break.
 
The Pioneers took control of the outing in the third quarter outscoring the Muskies 30-9 to give them a 62-50 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Muskies matched the Pioneers in the fourth quarter scoring a total of twenty-two points. Despite the final frame, the Pioneers were able to lock in the 84-72 victory over the Muskies.
